Diesel Wood Hammer Mill Overview

Best biomass crushing solution in off-grid areas or places without a stable electricity supply

The Diesel Wood Hammer Mill is a portable crushing machine powered by a diesel engine, designed to grind wood and agricultural residues into fine particles or powder. It is ideal for outdoor use, remote work sites, and mobile operations where electric power is unavailable or unstable.

This Wood Hammer Mill uses a high-speed rotating hammer rotor powered by a diesel engine. When biomass raw materials enter the crushing chamber, the rotating hammers smash them against impact plates and screens, reducing them to smaller particles. With continuous hitting force from hammers, the biomass materials break into small wood particles until small enough to pass screen holes. The output size is determined by the screen mesh size. We supply diesel wood hammer mills with capacities ranging from 200 kg/h to 1,100 kg/h. The electric-type biomass hammer mill is also available.

    Diesel Wood Hammer Mill FAQs

It is used to grind wood, agricultural residues, and other biomass materials into fine particles or sawdust, ideal for use in pellet production, charcoal making, animal bedding, and composting.

    It can crush:
    Wood chips
    Branches
    Coconut shells
    Corn stalks and cobs
    Wheat and rice straw
    Bamboo
    Cotton stalks
    Other biomass and agro-waste

The output size typically ranges from 2 mm to 8 mm, controlled by the screen mesh installed inside the machine.

Yes. The diesel wood hammer mill is often mounted on a wheeled base or steel frame for easy transport and outdoor operation.

Diesel models are generally louder than electric biomass hammer mills and may generate more vibration, especially on uneven ground. For safety and comfort, use it in open or ventilated areas.

Yes. You can add an optional cyclone dust collector to reduce airborne dust and make material collection easier.

Yes. The diesel hammer mill can be paired with conveyors, pellet mills, dryers, or bagging machines to build a complete mobile biomass pellet processing line.

    Yes. We can customize:

    • Hopper size
    • Engine type
    • Output mesh
    • Paint color and logo
    1. Check the diesel oil level before starting.
    2. Clean air filters regularly.
    3. Tighten hammers and check for wear after every 100 hours.
    4. Replace worn screens and hammers as needed.
    5. Lubricate bearings and rotating parts periodically.
    6. Never put your hands into the hopper.
    7. The Wet wood branches need drying before being crushed. Proper moisture is 8% – 15%
